Our Story
Why “elenasescape”? In 1985, my mother, Elena and her husband Harvey built a house in the beach community of Fair Harbor on Fire Island, NY. It is customary with these summer homes to give them names. Residents have fun with each name, usually trying to set a tone for the home.
Because my parents were coming from a 23rd-story condo in Queens, NY, they came up with the clever name of “Elenas Escape”.
When my mother passed away, just shy of 85 in June of 2024, I felt that it would be a wonderful name for the business, while honoring my mother.
From the time I was born, she exposed me to the arts in every category. From Museums/Galleries to Broadway Shows/Symphonies at Lincoln Center.
Because of her influence, at the age of 9, I told Elena that I wanted to open an Art Gallery. 52 years later, and 35 years as a gallerist, I am thrilled to be focusing on my painting and representing my favorite artists on elenasescape.
